The stories in Verney’s work has been shaped by impressions and experiences from growing up in a deprived Roehampton council estate in South London.
It is an expression and definition of the social and emotional conditions through forms of representation and perspectives - exploring notions of fear, pain, solitude, pressure and optimism presented through the perspective of an outsider looking in and at other times as that of an insider looking out.
